1. Ending ASCII characters must be selected in the order that they appear at the end of the ASCII strings

generated by the host system.

When Key Strings are not Enabled:
API-8/232 will page everything that is found in the incoming ASCII string field. The Incoming ASCII
string field is defined as all ASCII characters that come after the end of the last ASCII string and everything
that comes before the ending ASCII characters (as programmed in the Ending ASCII section of the RS232
Setup Menu).

When Key Strings are Enabled:
API-8/232 will search each event, defined by the ending ASCII , for the Event Types that are defined in the
Key Strings Section of the programming. The ending ASCII defines the field in which API-8/232 should
search for the Key Strings that have been programmed. API-8/232 will page all of the characters which are
found in the ASCII string field, defined by the ending ASCII, subject to the Key String Matches being found
in the field.

Setup API-8/232 to Modify Messages Generated Via Host System Serial Port
