3. Select the communications port on the computer which is connected to the API-8/232 via the
programming cable. Click OK.
4. From the Setup menu select Board and from the sub-menu that appears select Paging Functions. The
following Window is displayed.
Paging Terminal Direct Connection Setup
1. In the paging Access Box select Direct Connect.
2. In the Paging System Password box select Disabled if the paging system does not require a password.
If the paging system requires a password select Enabled. Enter the password in the Password field.
3. In the Terminal Settings Box select Baud Rate 1200 and Parity E,7,1. Please note that this is the default
setting. These settings will always revert to the default when Direct Connect has been selected.

4. In the Trouble, Select box the trouble conditions that are to be monitored by clicking the check boxes.
