13 Use the TREBLE control to set the
S-TIME
(Sustain Time) parameter,
or the length of time in which the
WAH FRQ
parameter will hold the
value set by the
S-LVL
parameter.
———————————————————————————————————————————————————
14 Use the PRESENCE control to set the
S-LVL
(Sustain Level) param-
eter, which defines the value that the
WAH FRQ
parameter will hold at
for the length of time defined by
S-TIME
.
———————————————————————————————————————————————————
15 Use the MASTER control to set the
R-TIME
(Release Time) param-
eter, which defines the length of time (in milliseconds) for the
WAH
FRQ
parameter to go from the
S-LVL
value back to its minimum value
after
S-TIME
has expired.
That's it! You now have a dynamic, automatic wah pedal effect which simulates pressing and
releasing a wah pedal with every picked note. This is far more effective than a conventional
automatic wah effect, which simply varies the wah frequency up and down based on time (without
recognizing what is actually played). In fact, for many applications using ADSR with the wah effect
can be even more accurate than using an actual wah pedal.
Figure 7-2 shows a graph similar to that shown in Figure 7-1, but with the parameter values
from this example included.
