Setting Up Your OCA

Performing a spectral analysis with your Optical Channel Analyzer (OCA) is
simple and can be achieved after selecting a few parameters.

Before performing your test, you must set the acquisition type and channel
plan.

Your OCA features two types of acquisitions:

Single: Spectral measurement is performed once. The results are
displayed according to this measurement.

Real-Time: In real-time acquisition, spectral measurements are
performed continuously until you press Stop. No averaging is done for
spectral measurements. The graph is refreshed after each acquisition.

Before performing measurements on an optical spectrum, you must select
the channel plan you want to use for your test:

CWDM: ITU CWDM channels covering the O- through L-Bands
(1255 nm to1630 nm).

DWDM: 50 GHz ITU DWDM channels covering the C-Band (1525 nm
to1570 nm).

DWDM over CWDM: CWDM channels covering the O- through -L bands
(1255 nm to1630 nm) with DWDM channels in the C-band.

CFP 40GBase-LR4: the four WDM channels assigned to lanes 0 to 3 of
40GBase C form-factor pluggable transceiver modules (1260 nm to
1340 nm).

CFP 100GBase-LR4: the four WDM channels assigned to lanes 0 to 3 of
100GBase C form-factor pluggable transceiver modules (1290 nm to
1315 nm).

CFP 100GBase-LR10: the ten WDM channels assigned to lanes 0 to 9 of
100GBase C form-factor pluggable transceiver modules (1515 nm to
1605 nm).

Custom 1: first user-defined channel plan (by default, same as CWDM).

Custom 2: second user-defined channel plan (by default, same as
DWDM).
