b, Disconnect BLACK bettery cable then RED bat
tery cable and remove battery from trsctor.
c, ^Yflsh battery with four tablespoons of baking
soda to one gallon of water. NOTE: EE CAREFUL
NOT TO GET THE SODA SOLUTION INTO THE
CELLS.
d- Rinse the bettery with plain water, dry and
relnsteli on tractor,
e ■ Clean terminals and battery cable ends with wire
brush Until bright
f. Replaça battery cables, connecting RED battery
cable to positive terminal first, then BLACK bat
tery cable to negative terminal Coat terminal con
nections with Vasalins.
g, Replace terminal guard.
3, Changa Engine Oil
The best time to change engine oil Is at the end of
a day's operation whan all dirt and foreign materials
are suspended in the hot all. See chan, page 16.
4, Clean Air Claaner Foam Pra-Cteanar (Fig, 221
a. Remove knobs and cover,
b. Remove foam prec/esner element by sliding ft
off of the paper cartridge,
c. H'síííí foam pre-cleaner in liquid detergent and
water,
d. Wrap foampre-cisanerm cloth and squeeze dry,
e. Lightly coat foam pre-cleaner with engine oft.
Squeeze irr towel to remove excess all. Do not
saturate-
f. Install foam prs-cfeaner a var paper cartridge,
g. Reassemble coyer end screw down tight
5, Clean Air Screen
Air screen (Fig, 221 must be kept free of dirt and chaff
to prevent engine damage from overheating. Clean
with a wire brush or compressed air la remove dirt,
stubborn dried gum fibers, ■

Inspect and replace corroded muffler as it could
create a fire hasard and/or damage.
