S29 – Extended Result Selection / Cadence Type Selection

(default = 88h)

Register S29 reflects the status of various options. This register is normally read only since its contents
are set by other commands. Register S29 is a bit mapped register whose bits are defined as follows:

bits 0/1
0/0 Do not return extended result codes (40 - 80). The message CONNECT followed by the data rate
between the

DTE and the modem will be sent to the DTE (W0 command) (default).

0/1

The CONNECT message will report the DTE speed then enable the carrier and extended result

codes (W1

command).

1/0 The CONNECT message will report the DCE speed. All extended result codes are disabled (W2
command).

Bit 2 0 = All Carrier, Protocol and Connect Result Codes enabled if W1 in effect.

1 = All Carrier Result Codes enabled if W1 in effect (No Protocol or Connect Result Codes).

Bit 3 0 = Escape sequence disabled.

1 = Escape sequence enabled.

Bit 4 0 = Alternate cadences for dial tone (default).

Bit 6 0 = Alternate cadences for Ring (default).
