RICK-RACK STRETCH STITCH

Sew on stretch fabrics in any area that you
might use a zig zag stitch. This stitch can be
used as a decorative top stitch as well.
It is useful also on lapped or abutted seams
where you lap one edgó of a seam over
another with seamlines meeting in the center.

This is a good stitch to pse with laces, on
lingerie, bra and girdles; and to apply bias
tape. It's great when quill|ing.
SMOCKING STRETCH STITCH

1. Make a straight line of gathers across the
fabric that you wish to smock.
2.
With a narrow strip of fabric directly
under the line of gathering, stitch over the
gathers. The design will be a series of
small diamonds.
Note: When smocking a garment, the stitch
ing should be done before the piece is
sewn into the garment.
