Care and cleaning of the range.
Removable Oven Door
(on som e m odels)
The door is very heavy. Be careful when
removing and lifting the door.
Do not lift the door by the handle.
To remove the door:
[7] Fully open the door.
1 ^ Pull the hinge locks down toward the door
^ frame, to the unlocked position. A tool,
such as a small flat-blade screwdriver,
may be required.
Firmly grasp both sides of the door at the
top.
Close door to the door removal position,
which is halfway between the broil stop
position and fully closed.
Lift door up and out until the hinge arm
is clear of the slot.
To replace the door:

Firmly grasp both sides of the door at the
top.
With the door at the same angle as the
removal position, seat the indentation of
the hinge arm into the bottom edge of the
hinge slot. The notch in the hinge arm must
be fully seated into the bottom of the slot.
Fully open the door. If the door will not
fully open, the indentation is not seated
correctly in the bottom edge of the slot.

Lift the door straight up and

Lift-Off Oven Door

The oven door is removable, but it is heavy.
You may need help removing and replacing
the door.
To remove the door:
[7] Open it a few inches to the special stop
position that will hold the door open.
Grasp firmly on each side and lift the
door straight up and offthe hinges.
NOTE: Be careful notto place hands between
the hinge and the oven door frame since the
hinge could snap back and pinch fingers.
To replace the door:
[7] Make sure the hinges are in the special
stop position. Position the slots in the
bottom ofthe door squarely overthe
hinges.
Lower the door slowly and evenly over
both hinges at the same time. If the
hinges snap back againstthe oven
frame, pull them back out.
Oven Racks
All oven racks may be cleaned by hand with an
abrasive cleaner or steel wool. After cleaning,
rinse the racks with clean water and dry with a
clean cloth. Gray porcelain-coated oven racks
may remain in the oven during the self-cleaning
cycle without being damaged. The nickel-plated
oven racks may remain in the oven during the
self-cleaning cycle, but they will lose their luster
and become hard to slide. It will be necessary
to grease all oven rack side edges with a light
coating of vegetable oil after cleaning them by
hand or in the oven. This will help maintain the
ease of sliding the racks in and out ofthe oven.
The gasket is designed with a gap at the
bottom to allow for proper air circulation.
Do not rub or clean the door gasket—it has
an extremely low resistance to abrasion.
If you notice the gasket becoming worn,
frayed or damaged in any way or if it has
become displaced on the door, you should
have it replaced.

Cleaning the Door
To clean the inside ofthe door:
■ Do not allow excess water to run into any
holes or slots in the door.
■ Wipe dishwashing detergent over any
boked-on spotters on the gloss. Use a single
sided safety razor blade to clean it off. Then
wipe over the gloss with a soapy cloth to
remove any residue and dry off.
■ The area outside the gasket con be cleaned
with a soap-filled plastic scouring pod.
To clean the outside ofthe door:
■ Use soap and water to thoroughly clean the
top, sides and front ofthe oven door. Rinse
well. You may also use a gloss cleaner to
clean the gloss on the outside ofthe door.
■ Spillage of marinades, fruitjuices, tomato
sauces and basting materials containing
acids may cause discoloration and should be
wiped up immediately. When the surface is
cool, clean and rinse.
■ Do not use oven cleaners, cleansing powders
or harsh abrasives on the outside ofthe door.
