The host platform displays LED indications of the WPIM-RT1’s
operation. For more information on LED indications, refer to the host
platform manual.

REQUIRED MANAGEMENT OPERATIONS

Before the WAN cable can be connected to the WPIM-RT1, you must use
QuickSET software or Local Management to configure the WPIM-RT1.
Refer to the QuickSET manual or

for specific instructions on

how to access the Wide Area configuration for the WPIM-RT1 for the
CSX400 and HSIM-W6 host platforms, and the HSIM-SSA710 User’s
Guide
for the HSIM-SSA710 as the host platform.

The WAN configuration must be completed before proceeding to the next
step.

2.4

CONNECTING THE WAN CABLE TO THE WPIM-RT1

Before connecting any cabling to the WPIM-RT1, refer to the host
platform manual for WAN setup instructions. Only after completing the
WAN setup from the host platform manual, for Local Management or
from QuickSET, can this section (

Section 2.4

) of the manual be

completed.

!

CAUTION

DO NOT plug the WAN cable into the external WAN connection
until you have properly completed the WAN setup in software. If
this cable is plugged in prematurely, before the host unit is
configured, the telephone company can disable the WAN line
for a period of time. The cable will be plugged in as a final step
once you run the QuickSET configuration, or the Local
Management configuration.
