Managing MFPs after Migration
After a migration, do the following to connect the MFP to the new Kofax Front-Office Server
installation. Refer to the Kofax Front-Office Server administrator’s guide for your MFP for
instructions.
Fujitsu: At the front panel of each device, change the server host to the IP address or host
name of the new Kofax Front-Office Server installation.
Lexmark: At the Lexmark Web page, configure the MFP to connect to the new IP address
or host name of Kofax Front-Office Server.
Ricoh: From the Administration Console, use the Deploy Client command to deploy the
front panel software. This establishes the connection with the new Kofax Front-Office
Server installation.
After updating the connection, deploy profiles to the devices. For an HP MFP, deploying profiles
also establishes the connection with the new Kofax Front-Office Server installation.
Configuring Kofax Front-Office Server Destination Types
Three destination types are preinstalled with Kofax Front-Office Server:
Network Location to send documents to a network folder
Kofax Queue to send documents to a queue
Kofax Capture to send documents to Batch Manager
Note
For information about configuring network folders to use as destinations and setting up
queues, refer to the Kofax Front-Office Server Administrator’s Guide. For more information about
using Kofax Capture as a destination type, refer to the Kofax Front-Office Server Configuration Guide
for Kofax Capture.
To configure Kofax Front-Office Server for additional destination types, you need to deploy one or
more connector files and modify a properties file with configuration options. Refer to the
configuration guides provided with Kofax Front-Office Server for each destination. You will find
the configuration guides in the following folders:
The \Documentation\Guides folder where Kofax Front-Office Server is installed (usually
C:\Program Files\Kofax\Front-Office Server)
The \setup\Guides folder on the Kofax Front-Office Server installation media
Installing MFP Front Panel Software
Your MFP may require additional software to display Kofax Front-Office Server shortcut buttons
on the front panel. Instructions for installing the software and other information about setting up
the MFP are in administrator guides in the following folders:
The \Documentation\Guides folder where Kofax Front-Office Server is installed (usually
C:\Program Files\Kofax\Front-Office Server)
The \setup\Guides folder on the Kofax Front-Office Server installation media
