Symptom Cause
Engine starts, then dies A blockage in the vent hose.
The roll over valve is stuck closed.
Engine runs rich Raw gasoline in the charcoal canister (if equipped).

Engine runs lean Wrong fuel cap installed.
Leak in the vacuum lines.
