Spindle overhaul
To rebuild a spindle:
1. Remove the spindle by following the procedures
described in the spindle removal section of this chap-
ter.
2.
Remove the spindle pulley, spacer and washer using
an impact wrench and a 15/16” socket.
3.
Slide the spindle shaft and pulley out of the spindle
housing. See Figure 7.19.
4.
Remove the upper bearing.
NOTE: The spindle bearings are sealed ball bearings. The
bearing should have a slip fit in the housing. If the
bearing does not slide out of the housing, it can be
driven out of the housing using a drift or a punch.
See Figure 7.20.
5.
Remove the spacer. See Figure 7.21.
