Cable Box Universal Remote Control Operation
The Remote Control may be set up to
control some of the functions on your
Cable box.
Model PV-M2058 remote
is shown here.
The remote control is
designed to control the
brands listed. However, it
will not operate all DSS
Boxes or Cable boxes
made by these
manufactures. If you get
no results, your particular
product brand cannot be
controlled by this remote.

Find your DSS box or Cable box brand code number
from one of the charts on this page.

While holding down DSS CABLE, use the NUMBERED
keys to enter your DSS box or Cable box brand code
number.
• For code numbers 100 or greater, first press the 100 key, and then enter
the remaining digit. E.g„ for 102, press 100, then press 2.

To confirm that the correct code was entered, press
POWER to turn your DSS box or Cable box on/off.

Try each of the functions listed under Set to DSS
CABLE : in the following section.
• Due to changes in infra-red commands used by some manufactures,
more than one code may be listed for some Cable box brands. If your
Cable box does not respond to the first code, please try entering the
next code.
Using the Universal Remote Control
Once the remote control has been properly setup, you can select TV/VCR,
DSS or CABLE mode depending on which functions you wish to control.
(See below.)
Press TV/VCR or DSS CABLE on the remote control to
select the desired mode. (See below for a list of controllable
functions for each mode.)
Set to TV/VCR:
• All TV and VCR functions
Set to DSS CABLE:
• Power • Numbered keys • Channel Up/Down
• ENTER • Basic VCR functions, e.g. PLAY, REC, etc.
NOTES:
• In DSS or CABLE mode, it may be necessary to press ENTER after
pressing the NUMBERED keys for channel selection,
• In DSS or CABLE mode, ACTION, PROG, INDEX, ON-TIMER, R-TUNE,
FM/TV and ADD/DLT are not available. Press TVA/CR to use these functions.
• Depending on your DSS box or Cable box brand, some of the functions
listed may not be remote controllable.
