Optimizing the recording condition
Use this feature to check the tape condition before recording, so that you can get the
best possible picture (ORC).
(1) While the camcorder is in Standby mode, press MENU to display the menu,
(2) Turn the control dial to select ORC TO SET, then press the dial.
"START/STOP KEY" flashes.
(3) Press START/STOP.
The camcorder takes about 5 seconds to check the tape condition and then
returns to Standby mode.
Each time you insert the cassette
Perform the above procedures.
To see if the tape condition has been checked
Perform steps 1 and 2 above. If "ORC TO SET ORC ON" is displayed, the tape
condition has been checked.
Notes on the ORC function
• A 0.1 second unrecorded space is made on the tape. However, if you start recording
immediately, the unrecorded portion disappears.
• You cannot
