When to adjust the exposure
When you shoot in a snowfield or on a beach in the mid-summer and the subject may
become dark because of the extreme brightness, you can change the brightness of the
picture. You can also use this function when the subject is too bright - subjects on
stages, night views, etc.

[a] Turn the control dial up when:
• The background is too bright (back lighting)
• Insufficient light: most of the picture is dark

Turn the control dial down when:
• Bright subject and dark background
• To record the darkness faithfully
Adjusting the exposure

Press EXPOSURE.

Turn the control dial to adjust the brightness.
To return to automatic exposure mode
Press EXPOSURE again.
