The ECAT controller state machine has four possible states: INIT, PREOP, SAFEOP and OP mode. Those
states and the transition between states are managed via AL Control/Status register.

Power consumption depends on the input voltage; the following diagram shows this dependency for MT de-
vices:

Typical current consumption values are 129 mA @10V and 51 mA @ 30V.
2.2 Operating Temperature Range
Device operating temperature range is limited by the chip temperature of the data sampling block. Continu-
ous exceeding of the upper temperature limit may lead to an over temperature warning message. Ignoring
the over or under temperature warning may lead to consecutive fault e.g. position error.
Short time violations of operating temperature limits may not lead to a device overheating and thus are not
detected by the system.
The mechanical setup (hollow shaft, bearing, IP protection level, etc) of the encoder determines the tempera-
ture operation limits.
