Using the Battery Pack

A charged battery pack lets you run FIVA without connecting the AC
adaptor. The following describes various power management
functions that help to make battery pack operation more efficient.

N o t e

See page 29

for information about attaching and removing the

battery pack.

See page 31

for information about charging the

battery pack.

• The battery pack naturally discharges even when you are not using

it. To avoid problems due to premature rundown of the battery
pack, charge it just before you plan to use it or charge the battery
pack as you use it.

Checking the Current Charge Level of the Battery Pack

The battery pack discharges naturally even when you are not using it.
Make sure you charge the battery pack fully before trying to use it to
power FIVA.
You can use any of the following three methods to check the current
charge level of the battery pack.

Checking the Power Indicator Lamp Color

The

indicator lamp flashes amber if the battery charge level drops

while FIVA is operating under battery power only. When this happens,
connect the AC adaptor and charge the battery. If you continue to
use FIVA under the low power condition, FIVA will automatically enter
the Hibernation Mode when the battery charge level drops more.

See

page 37

.

Important

• You can specify the trigger level at which the low battery warning

appears.

See page 82

for details.

• Turning on power while battery power is below the trigger level for

low battery warning causes the warning message to appear on the
display (Battery power is below XX%.) and power to turn off
automatically. When this happens, connect the AC adaptor to
power FIVA.
