Marked drop in
pressure
Leak in the system.
Check and seal connections (see Chapter 3.5,
page 18).
Marked rise in pres-
sure
6.2821.120 inline filter
blocked.
Replace 6.2821.130 filter (see Chapter 5.6,
page 83).
MSM-HC – blocked.

Regenerate the MSM-HC (see Chapter
5.11.3.1, page 88).
Note: 6.2821.180 pump tubing connection
with filter must be used .
Conductivity detector
blocked.
■
Shorten capillary ends by several mm (see
Chapter 5.13.1, page 96).
■
Rinse detector against the normal flow
direction (see Chapter 5.13.1, page 96).
Guard column – blocked.
Replace guard column (see Chapter 3.20,
page 62).
Separation column –
blocked.
■
Regenerate separation column (see Chap-
ter 5.14.4, page 97).

Replace separation column (see "Connect-
ing and rinsing the separation column",
page 65).
Note: Samples should always be microfiltered
(see Chapter 5.7, page 85).
Injection valve – valve
blocked.
Have the valve cleaned (by Metrohm service
technicians).
Drift of the baseline
Thermal equilibrium not yet
attained.
Condition (see Chapter 3.15, page 48) instru-
ment with the column thermostat switched
