4. Grasp the resistor ground cap and remove it by pulling with a
slight rocking motion. This will expose the end of the resistor.
5. The resistor should still be nested inside the resistor fitting. If the
spacer ring is displaced, it will have to be repositioned.
6. Ensure the spacer ring is bottomed.
Inspection Inspect the resistor and visible internal parts for damage. In most
cases, even in the event of a resistor failure, the resistor substrate will
remain intact. If so, continue the procedure in this section. Use the
special procedure for the replacement of fractured resistors or damaged
internal parts, as the condition of the resistor or internal parts require.
