Chapter 3: KUMO Router Web Browser User
Interface
Introduction
An optimized web server inside the KUMO allows you to remotely monitor and adjust
parameter settings via a network-attached computer running a web browser. The
network can be a closed local area network, a straight computer-to-KUMO Ethernet
cable, or even exposed through a firewall to a broadband WAN (not generally
recommended since anyone on the internet can then access the KUMO). The LAN
connection on the KUMO uses a standard RJ45 connector, and communicates via
standard “straight-through” CAT 5 Ethernet cables or null-modem (cross-over) cables
without any configuration or strapping required.
NOTE:
In this chapter a KUMO 3232 is used as the example. Other models will have fewer buttons.
Navigation Bar
Information
The KUMO web browser user interface (UI) provides a navigational bar of tabs for access
to five control screens and the Identify toggle button:
• Home – control panel for source/destination selections
• Configuration – custom naming for sources and destinations, and mode selection
• Network – IP settings for LAN/WAN operation
• Firmware – update menu for KUMO software from AJA
• Alarms – log of service failures and allows alarms to be suppressed
• Identify – toggles activation of Identify LEDs for easy location of various system
components

Click any of the first five tabs to jump to that screen. To the right of the Identify button
you will see the format of the Reference Video signal being used (if present).
