Using the 1785-CHBM
Cartridge Status Indicators The 1785-CHBM cartridge status indicators indicate the operational
state of the ControlNet PLC-5 backup system. The following table lists
the various LED states and the recommended action:
LED Color Indicates Probable Cause Corrective Action
PRI Green This processor is the primary (i.e., it controls the
outputs). Normal operation No action required
Green blinking This processor is in the Lonely Primary backup
state No good scheduled
connections Check media for broken cables,
loose connectors, missing
terminators, etc.
Red The backup system is not yet completely
configured (i.e., system is in the Invalid backup
state). Improper backup
configuration
parameters
Improper ControlNet
Backup Integer file Refer to Troubleshooting the
Invalid Backup State section,
later in this chapter.
Off This processor is not the primary (i.e., system is
in the No Control or Secondary backup state). Normal operation No action required
SEC Yellow This processor is the qualified secondary (i.e.,
system is in the Secondary backup state). Normal operation No action required
Red The backup system is not yet completely
configured (i.e., system is in the Invalid backup
state). Improper backup
configuration
parameters

Off This processor is not the secondary (i.e., system
is in the No Control or Primary backup state). Normal operation No action required
QUAL Green The system has both a primary and a secondary
processor, which are communicating properly
with each other; the secondary processor is
qualified. Normal operation No action required
Yellow The system has both a primary and a secondary
processor, which are communicating properly
with each other, but the secondary is not yet
qualified. Normal operation No action required
Alternating yellow
and green Qualification active Normal operation No action required
Off The primary and secondary processors are not
communicating properly with each other. Standalone processor
