Installing CompactBlock I/O
Follow these steps, to install the 1791R I/O module:
1. Set the Node Address on the Base Module.
2. Mount the Block(s).
3. Connect the Input/Output Wires to the Block.
4. Connect the RIO Cable.
5. Select termination for the module.
6. Connect power to the module.
7. Remove the terminal block.
8. Insert the terminal block.
9. Communicate with the 1791R Module.
These steps are explained in detail in the following
procedures.

Preventing Electrostatic Discharge
This equipment is sensitive to electrostatic
discharge, which can cause internal damage and
affect normal operation. Follow these guidelines
when you handle this equipment:
•
Touch a grounded object to discharge
potential static.
•
Wear an approved grounding wriststrap.
•
Do not touch connectors or pins on
component boards.
•
Do not touch circuit components inside the
equipment.
•
If available, use a static-safe workstation.
•
When not in use, store the equipment in
appropriate static-safe packaging.
