1791R modules supply expansion power via expansion bus as
follows:
Connect Power to the Module
To apply power to the 1791R module, refer to the illustration below.
Remove the Terminal Block
Follow the directions below to remove the CompactBlock terminal
block.
1. Unscrew the two retaining screws on the side of the terminal
block.
Expansion power voltage 5Vdc
Expansion power current 100mA

When you connect or disconnect the Removable
Terminal Block (RTB) with field side power
applied, an electrical arc can occur. This could
cause an explosion in hazardous location
installations.
Be sure that power is removed or the area is
nonhazardous before proceeding.
