If the surface of the underlayment has a light red color, this is an indication that the surface
has already been treated by the L
eveLrock
applicator . No further sealing of the surface is
recommended . However, in areas subject to extended trade traffic, the sealer may have worn
off . Place a drop of water onto suspect areas . Rapid absorption of water indicates a need
for re-coating in that area . L

all purpose sealer can be applied to dry L
eveLrock
floor
underlayment . Determine underlayment dryness using a Protimeter moisture meter or use the
plastic sheet method per ASTM D4263 .
At the jobsite, L
eveLrock
all purpose sealer and underlayment must be maintained between
50-95°F for 48 hours before, during and after job completion . Radiant heat systems should
be shut down and cooled off during application and drying of the L
eveLrock
all purpose sealer .
Underlayment must be free of dirt, wax, polish, paint, excess dust or other contaminates
before application of L
eveLrock
all purpose sealer . Should the surface of the L
eveLrock
floor
underlayment be excessively dusty, consult with the owner or general contractor of the project .
For best results, L
eveLrock
all purpose sealer must be applied at least 2 hours prior to
application of any adhesive overlays . In all cases, a field bond test must be conducted with
the proposed adhesive to be used for the job .
Spray apply L
eveLrock
all purpose sealer for best results . When spray-applying, a uniform
application is critical . Voids may compromise the sealer performance and detrimentally affect
adhesive bond . May also be broom- or roller-applied . Apply diluted solution of sealer at a rate
of 300 sq . ft ./gal . (see pages 14-15 for recommended application and dilution rates) . Do
not allow sealer to puddle, back-roll if necessary . For smaller areas, a roller may simplify
application . L

all purpose sealer is not a wear surface .
Using SIkAFLoor FTP Fast Track Primer
SIKAFLOOR ® FTP Fast Track Primer, manufactured by Sika Corporation, is an epoxy primer
that can be used over L
eveLrock
floor underlayments to enhance the surface and bondability to
a variety of floor covering adhesives . FTP primer is especially suited to commercial applications
using high-grade floor coverings . FTP primer can be used as a surface primer over L
eveLrock ®
2500, 3500, RH (radiant heat) or commercial RH (radiant heat) floor underlayments to
prepare the floor to receive a water-based floor covering adhesive or thin-set mortar . (See
pages 14-15 for recommended application and dilution rates) . FTP primer has a limited pot
life of 2 hours, so do not mix more than can be applied during this period .
FTP primer may be applied to the underlayment as soon as it can be walked on or to a dry
underlayment . FTP primer has greater durability and is recommended for pour before drywall
installation or where heavy trade traffic is expected prior to the application of floor goods .
Allow primer to dry at least 12 hours before installing floor goods . FTP primer improves the
bond between underlayment and adhesive or mortar by chemically enhancing the underlayment
surface . FTP primer works best with high grade commercial goods including commercial
carpet tiles, felt-backed resilient floor coverings, vinyl composition tile, linoleum and broadloom
carpet . For dried floors, allow primer to dry at least 12 hours before installing floor goods .
