Ensure unit is cooled to room temperature and remove glass door.
1. HZ390 Unit only.
Remove burner (see manual for instructions).
Remove existing pilot shield by removing 2 screws.
Install pilot shield provided with Log Set using 2 screws from
previous pilot shield. Reinstall burner.
Read the instructions below carefully and refer to the images. If the logs are broken do not use the unit until they are replaced. Broken
logs can interfere with pilot operation.
Improper positioning of the logs may create carbon build-up and can alter the unit's performance which is not covered under warranty.
*For Touch Ups: Satin Black paint is included for burner, and Dark Brown Paint is included for log set,
Note: This Log installation is for NG units only.
1 Rear Centre Log
2 Centre Right Front Angled Log Piece
3 Right Forked Upright Log
4 Left Angled Upright Log
5 Left Angled Cross Log
6 Right Front Angled Log Piece
7 Centre Left Front Angled Log Piece

3. Place Log 1 on Rear Log Bracket, ensure Log is centered.
4. Place Log 2 on the glass, angled with the non charred point of the
Log is approximately 9-1/4" from the right side of the burner tray.
Glass quantities with Log installation
HZ390 5 lbs
HZ540 6 lbs
Note: If glass previously installed - remove 2lbs to equal above quantity.
2. Both HZ540 & HZ390 Units.
Sweep glass aside (if already installed) to install Rear Log Bracket,
clip on to rear of the burner as shown below.
