Installing the Car Seat Base and Car Seat

lock the vehicle seat back into the
upright position.

5. Center the car seat base on the vehicle

seat (Photo D), making sure the areas
under and behind the car seat base are
clear of obstructions.

CHECK that car seat base is level
by looking at the level indicator. The
window in the level indicator must
be green (Photo E). If red appears in
the window (Photo F), try any of the
following:

a. Remove the car seat base. Position

a rolled towel under the car seat
base (Photo G), making sure the
front of the car seat base contacts
the vehicle seat. The towel should
be compressed as the StrongArm
tightens the car seat base into place.

b. Install the car seat base in a different

vehicle seating position.

c. Seek assistance from one of the

Death or Serious Injury Can Occur

If using a lap-shoulder vehicle belt to
secure the car seat base, continue to
Step 7. If using a vehicle lap belt, skip
to Step 14.

If using a lap-shoulder vehicle belt:

7. The lap-shoulder vehicle belt must be

secured in place by the lock-off clamp.
To secure the belt in place:

8. Open the lock-off clamp.

9. Thread the lap-shoulder vehicle belt

through the belt guides and the lock-off
clamp (Photo H).

10. Buckle the lap-shoulder vehicle belt.

To prevent ejection, the car
seat base must be properly
reclined. The window indicator
in the car seat base must be
green when installed.
