LENTON
QUICK WEDGE
STEP 1: Slide the proper sleeve size onto
the existing rebar. (see part identification
chart and note 1.
INTENDED USE: The LENTON QUICK WEDGE
Splicing System is designed to join two pieces of
overlapping rebar.

WARNIING: Before beginning installation, see
tool manual for proper and safe operation of the
tool. Wedge pins must not be held while
extending piston. Failure to remove hands or
other objects can cause great bodily harm.
Reference additional warnings below.

NOTES:
1. When splicing rebar, wedge pins are not
interchangeable between sizes. Pins must be
obtained from the same box of sleeves.
2. When extending the piston, care should be
taken to ensure that the pin remains
perpendicular to the sleeve. If either the sleeve
or pin moves, retract the piston by releasing the
trigger on the handle. Re-position the sleeve or
pin and begin again.
3. Properly assembled connections must have
the wedge-pin flush +/-1/16” (1.5mm) from
sleeve surface.

NOTE: All LENTON QUICK WEDGE shipping boxes are labeled with a
part number and a lot identification number. Before discarding, confirm
that this information is not required for material certification.

Coated Rebar: After installation is complete, touch up wedge pin and
areas that may have been damaged during installation. Check with local
(DOT) requirements for touchup practices and procedures.

STEP 2: Insert second bar into the sleeve.
Rebar ends must be at least flush or
protruding from end of sleeve.
STEP 3: Setup tool for proper rebar size.
Position the pin-driving unit on sleeve.
(CAUTION: see tool manual for proper and
safe operation).
STEP 4: Insert the “large round end” of the
wedge pin into the pin driving unit. As
shown in the side view, make sure that the
flats on the pin are in line with the two bars.
STEP 5: Referring to the tool manual, drive
the wedge pin into the sleeve. Pin needs to
be flush +/- 1/16” (1.5mm) from the sleeve
surface. (See note 3).
