8. Study the photos on the right. The top
photo shows a correctly sealed joint.
9. The stainless steel must be wiped with
Isopropyl alcohol to remove dust, oil
film, and other contaminants.
10. Note that the joint is filled presenting
an even transition between sections.
11. The sealant is applied past the top
radius of the joint presenting a uniform
fill.
12.. Study the lower sealed joint. This
joint did not have enough sealant
applied and therefore presents a
crevasse where soils may be
trapped.
13. Practice this procedure on a
hidden joint if you experience
problems with the procedure.
