Last, but Not Least

Your computer is exposed to rain or any other excess moisture

Your computer has been dropped or the case has been otherwise damaged

You suspect that your computer needs service or repair
Â
You want to clean the computer or the case
If you plan to store your computer for an extended period of time, remove the battery.

Provider or Apple. See “Learning More, Service, and Support” on page 93.
General Maintenance
If you need to clean the computer by doing more than wiping it down with a clean
cloth, follow these instructions:

Turn off your computer and display, if a display is connected.

Disconnect the computer power cable from the electrical outlet or power strip. If your
display is connected to an outlet, disconnect it as well.

Disconnect the display’s cables from the computer.
4
Wipe the computer case surfaces lightly with a clean, soft cloth dampened with water.
NOTICE:
Don’t use alcohol, aerosol sprays, solvents, or abrasives that might damage
the finish on the case.
