Selecting a network connection Once you have installed EtherT
alk networking sof
tware on your
PowerBook, you must select the appropriate connection type in the Network control panel before you can use it. You can switch to a different network connection type at any time. For example, if you have access to both a L
ocalT
alk and an
Ether
net network (using EtherT
alk), you can switch between the
two connection types. 1.
Insert the P
owerBook Duo into the dock and tur
n on
the P
owerBook.

Choose Control P
anels from the Apple (
K
) menu.

Double-click the Network icon to open the Network control panel. When the Network control panel opens, an EtherT
alk icon
and icons for any other installed network connection sof
tware
are displayed.

Click the icon of the EtherT
alk network connection
.
A dialog box war
ns you that you may lose any network
ser
vices that you are using with your cur
rent network
connection. This means that you may need to reconnect to the network ser
vices later
.
5.
Click OK.
6.
Close the Network control panel. You can now use the network connection you selected.
