Connecting the Duo Dock to the end
of an Ethernet network
Connecting the Duo Dock to the end of a network will not
inter
rupt communication among network users. Y
ou do not need
to shut down any computers or notif
y users before adding the
dock to the network.
1.
Plug the short cable extending from an Apple Ether
net
adapter into the Ether
net port on the dock.
The Ether
net port is at the center of the connector panel on
the back of the dock.
2.
Use an Ether
net cable to connect the adapter to the
network as shown
.
Connecting the Duo Dock directly to your printer
The Ether
net port is used most of
ten to connect the dock to a
network. However
, if you are using the dock and P
owerBook Duo
as a stand-alone computer
, you can use this port to create a direct,
high-speed connection to a printer that also has an Ether
net port
(this creates a small Ether
net network consisting of the
workstation and printer).

Plug the short cable extending from an Apple Ether

adapter into the Ether
net port on the dock.

Plug an Ether
net connector into the Ether
net port on
your printer
