Installing networking system software You use the Installer program and the system sof
tware disks that
came with your P
owerBook Duo (or that you purchased as a
separate system sof
tware upgrade kit) to install networking
sof
tware on your P
owerBook.
If your disks came with your P
owerBook, the Installer program is
on the disk named
Install Me F
irst.
The following instr
uctions describe how to install the networking
sof
tware you need.
1.
Insert the P
owerBook Duo into the dock.
2.
W
ith the P
owerBook tur
ned off, insert the
Install Me
First
disk into the inter
nal floppy disk drive.
3.
Tu
rn
on your P
owerBook Duo.
The Installer program opens automatically
.
4.
Click OK. You see the Easy Install dialog box. Mak
e sure that the hard disk indicated in the box is the one
on which you want to install networking sof
tware. If a
different disk appears, click the Switch Disk button until the cor
rect disk name appears.
Depending on the version of your installation disks, you may see slightly different infor
mation in this dialog box.
