8. STARTER
8.18 Assemble components
A Make sure the spring is in the correct
position.
B Use blue Loctite ® on the pawl screws.
C Torque to 60 in-lbs. (6.8 Nm).
8.19 Wind the pawl spring.
A Use needle nose pliers to move the
tail of the spring into position.
8.20 Install starter cover.
A Pull out cord 4-6”.
B Slowly release while placing cover to
allow pawls to engage.
