When you see the TONER EMPTY message on the computer screen and
the blinking ALARM lamp on the printer’s control panel, you must
replace the toner cartridge with a new one. You cannot resume printing
until you install a new toner cartridge.

Installing a new toner cartridge should eliminate the toner empty
indication.

Discard the used toner cartridge according to local regulations. If you
are not sure of them, consult your local dealer.

It is recommended that you clean the printer when you replace the
toner cartridge. See “CLEANING THE PRINTER” in this chapter.
Follow these steps to replace the toner cartridge:
1. Lift the multi-purpose sheet feeder from the printer to remove it.
