1. The display stays blank after you have
turned on the machine or abnormal cha-
racters are displayed.
•
Check that the AC adaptor is attached
properly.
•
If you are using alkaline batteries, check
that they are properly inserted.
•
If the batteries are low, replace them.
•
Hold down CODE and R keys and press
the ON/OFF key twice to reset the mac-
hine. The display and all contents of the
memory are also deleted.
2. The machine does not print or the printed
characters are blurred.
•
Check that the tape cassette has been
inserted properly.
•
If the tape cassette is empty, replace it
with a new one.
•
Make sure that the tape cassette cover
has been closed.
3. The printed characters are not formed
properly.
•
If you are using alkaline batteries, they
may be low. Try using the AC adaptor.
4. Striped tape appears.
•
You have reached the end of the tape.
Replace it with a new tape.
5. In multi-color print mode, the tape cannot
be fed after the machine’s power supply
was suddenly cut (e.g. the power button
was pressed or there was a power failure)
while rewinding the tape, which caused
the rewinding gear to remain engaged.
•
Open the tape compartment cover, re-
move the multi-color tape cassette, then
close the cover.
Turn on the power and press the FEED
key to disengage the rewinding gear,
causing the message “NO TAPE!” to be
displayed.
