2.1 Preparation for Installation
2.1.1 Installation procedure
In this chapter the HarnessEye/web installation procedure is described.
Installing the Management Proxy function
1. Install the SNMP service.
2. Install IIS.
3. Install the Management Proxy function of HarnessEye/web.
Installing the Agent function
1. Install the SNMP service.
2. Install SNMP agent software for the RAID controller.
3. Install the Agent function of HarnessEye/web.
Installing the Manager function
1. Install Internet Explorer Version 5.5 SP2 or more
2. Install the Manager function of HarnessEye/web.
To obtain information on a RAID controller (RAID configuration information), the RAID
controller card, driver, and SNMP agent software must be installed in advance. For the
installation procedures, please refer to the respective manuals.
To install SNMP, follow the procedures specific to each operating system. For details of
TCP/IP and SNMP, please refer to manuals for each operating system.
To install IIS, follow the procedure specific to each operating system.
If the operating system in the Management Proxy machine is a WindowsNT, please install IIS
Version 4.0 by using an Option Pack.
For details of IIS, please refer to manuals for each operating system.
Notice Please check the following setting, if you install the HEW Agent on a machine
running Windows Server 2003. Open [Administrative Tools] from [Control Panel]
and then double-click [Local Security Policy]. Select [Security Settings]-[Local
Policies]-[Security Options]. Double-click [Devices: Unsigned driver installation
behavior]. If the policy is currently set to [Do not allow installation], HEW will not
be installed correctly. Therefore, please change the policy to [Silently succeed]
or [Warn but allow installation] before installing HEW.
