When some faults occur in the server, the fault reports can be informed to each of the
managers of Compaq Insight Manager (XE), OpenView and Tivoli. The contents of the fault
report to transmit are about faults of temperature, FAN, Voltage and so on.
Notice - When you use this function, you need to install an Agent function of HEW. If
an Agent function of HEW has not been installed, install it.
- Refer to each user's guide for the operation of each manager.
In the case of using Compaq Insight Manager
When some faults occur in the server, the fault reports can be informed by
transmitting SNMP Trap to Compaq Insight Manager. If you want this function to be
valid, perform a SNMP Trap destination setting and a setting by Local Configuration
Tool. When you set a SNMP Trap destination, add the IP address of the machine in
which Compaq Insight Manager is installed as a SNMP Trap destination of an Agent
machine.
(Appendix 4 Local Configuration Tool)
In the case of using OpenView
When some faults occur in the server, the fault reports can be informed by
transmitting SNMP Trap to OpenView. If you want this function to be valid, add the IP
address of the machine in which OpenView is installed as a SNMP Trap destination of
an agent machine. For your information, a mib file that defines SNMP Trap of HEW is
THewtrap.mib in the \Public\Utils\Toshiba\HEYE\Tools directory on the Server Setup
Tool CD.
In the case of using Tivoli
After installing an EndPoint in an Agent machine, the fault reports can be informed by
monitoring events that HEW writes in an event log. If you want this function to be valid,
install an EndPoint in an Agent machine, and change Baroc file and FMT file. For your
information, sample files are THew.Baroc and THew.FMT in the
\Public\Utils\Toshiba\HEYE\Tools directory on the Server Setup Tool CD.
