Taking Videos

Use the Video setting

to take videos or to customize video-taking settings.

Before you take a video, make sure your picture storage location is set the way
you want it (

see page 9

).

Taking a Video

Turn the Mode dial to Video

.

A live image, the status bar, and the
recording time available appear in the
LCD. (To turn the status bar on or off,
move the joystick

.)

Frame your subject on the LCD. (If you need
to conserve battery power, press the Select
button to turn off the LCD. Then use the
Viewfinder to frame your subject.)

Press the Shutter button half-way until the
ready light glows green, then either:

Press and release —press the Shutter button completely down and
release within 2 seconds. Press the Shutter button again to stop recording.

Press and hold—continue pressing and holding the Shutter button
completely down. Release the Shutter button to stop recording.
The ready light blinks green while the camera is recording. Recording
stops if you reach the specified video length interval (

see page 24

) or

when the current storage location is full.
