Cause/Solution
A
No image taken.
• When camera is in playback mode, or setting
items or setup menu are displayed, press the
shutter-release button.
• Battery is exhausted.
• When flash indicator flashes, flash is charging.
Cannot switch to shooting
mode.
Disconnect HDMI cable or USB cable.
Camera cannot focus.
• Subject is too close. Try shooting using macro
mode, easy auto mode, or Close-up scene
mode.
• The intended subject is not suitable for
autofocus.
• Set AF assist in the setup menu to Auto.
• Turn camera off and then on again.
Images are blurred.
• Use flash.
• Increase ISO sensitivity value.
• Enable vibration reduction.
• Use D (Best Shot Selector).
• Use a tripod to stabilize the camera when
shooting (using the self-timer at the same
time is more effective).
Bright specks appear in
images taken with flash.
Flash is reflecting off particles in air. Set the flash
mode setting to W (Off).
Flash does not fire.
• The flash mode setting is set to W (Off).
• Scene mode with which the flash does not
fire is selected.
• On is selected for Blink proof in smart
portrait mode.
• Movie is selected for shooting mode.
• Another function that restricts flash is
enabled.
Digital zoom cannot be
used.
• Digital zoom is set to Off in the setup menu.
• Digital zoom is not available in the following
situations:
- When Portrait, Night portrait,
Backlighting (when HDR is set to On),
Easy panorama, or Pet portrait scene
mode is selected
- When touch shooting is set to Subject
tracking
- When shooting in smart portrait mode
- When Multi-shot 16 is selected for the
Continuous setting
Image mode not available.
Another function that restricts the Image mode
option is enabled.
