Connecting the Network Cables
The AT-MC102XLPCI Media Converter has an SC type fiber optic
connector with a transmit and receive ports and one twisted-pair
connector.
See Appendix A, “Fiber Optic Port Specifications” on page 39 for the fiber
optic cable specifications.
For the AT-MC102XLPCI Media Converter, you need a twisted-pair cable.
For cable specifications and pinout information, see Appendix A, “RJ-45
Twisted-Pair Port Specifications” on page 38.
To connect a network cable to the adapter, perform the following
procedure:
Warning
The fiber optic ports contain a Class 1 LED device. When the ports
are disconnected, always cover them with the provided plug.
Exposed ports may cause skin or eye damage.
1. On the AT-MC102XLPCI Media Converter, connect the fiber optic
cable to the Ethernet fiber optic port. See Figure 11.

2. Connect the opposite end of the fiber optic cable to the link partner of
the AT-MC102XLPCI Media Converter.
