ACPI Function
This item allows you to enable/disable the Advanced Configuration and 
Power Management (ACPI). The options available are Enabled, 
Disabled. 
Power Management
This option allows you to select the type (or degree) of power saving for 
Doze, Standby, and Suspend modes. The table below describes each 
power management mode: 
Max Saving Maximum power savings. Only Available for SL CPUs.
Inactivity period is 1 minute i n each mode.
User Define Sets each mode individually. Select time-out periods in
the PM Timers section, following.
Min Saving Minimum power savings. Inactivity period is 1 hour in
each mode (except the hard drive).

PM Control by APM
If Advanced Power Management (APM) is installed on your system, 
selecting Yes gives better power savings. The default value is “Yes”.

System BIOS will ignore A PM when power managing the

System BIOS will wait for APM’s prompt before it enters any

PM mode (i.e., DOZE, S TANDBY or SUSPEND). 
Note: If AP M is installed or if there i s a task running, even 
when the timer has timed out, the A PM will not prompt the
BIOS to put the system into any power saving mode!

Video Off Method
Determines the manner in which the monitor is blanked.
V/H SYNC+Blank Turns OFF vertical and horizontal
synchronization ports and writes blanks to the 
video buffer 
S elect this opti on if your monitor supports the 
Display Power Managem ent Signaling (DP MS)
DPMS
standard of the Video Electronics S tandards A
ssociation (VESA). Use the software suppl ied for
your video subsystem to select video power
management values.
Blank Screen
S ystem only writes blanks to the video buffer.
