Home Page
The Home page for APWeb contains information on the system’s routing levels (referred to as virtual
matrices or VMs in APWeb) and the number of currently defined macros. The site name can be
customized to uniquely identify your Octaire system (contact your Network Administrator).

Executing and Disconnecting Switches
XBar Controller Overview
Switches can be executed and disconnected on the Octaire
by using the XBar, a graphic interface control
panel. The XBar controls specific parts of the system through routing levels. For example, the XBar may
switch audio-follow-video signals on one routing level, video on another, and audio on yet another. The
routing level selected will determine which part of the system is available for control in the XBar.
An APWeb server provides access to a single Octaire
system from a specific IP address and can be
accessed from up to five PCs at the same time. If you are controlling the same system as other users, you
can open the VM Selection Pad and update status as needed (see page 91). The VM Selection Pad is also
used to change routing levels. Keep in mind that executing switches on one routing level may affect the
routing state on the other routing levels.
