The Logical Device ID Define window opens and displays the
assigned LDEV IDs for each CU.
2. Select the CU, enter the LDEV ID, and select OK.
Linear Assigns the LDEV IDs in sequential order for all
unassigned logical addresses within the parity group.
The Linear option is appropriate for users who
actively balance their disk array work loads.
Disperse Randomly rotates the LDEV IDs among multiple
groups across the disk array, eliminating hot spots and
improving data access. The Disperse option is appro-
priate for users who do not actively balance their disk
array work loads.
Detail Allows manual selection of LDEV IDs.
