6.1 Viewing Virtual Copy Information

In addition to viewing virtual volumes on the vCenter Server’s Virtual Machines (VMs) and

datastores when logged in, you can also view virtual copies.

To view a VM or datastore’s virtual copies:

1

Start the 3PAR Management Plug-In for VMware vCenter as described in

5.1 Logging In

on

page 5.2.

2

Follow the instructions in

5.2 Viewing Virtual Volume Mapping

on page 5.4.

3

Click the Virtual Copies tab.

Information about the selected VM or datastore’s virtual copies is displayed.

The following figure displays a Valid virtual copy set with the status of Available:

Figure 6-1. Viewing a Valid and Available Virtual Copy Set

NOTE: In the following sections, the type of virtual copy being created, mounted,

or modified is dependent on whether a VM or datastore is selected from the

navigation tree. For example, if you have selected a datastore from the

navigation tree, subsequent create, mount, or modify actions performed will

affect the selected datastore until a different datastore or VM is selected.

NOTE: The ability to manage virtual copies provided by 3PAR Recovery Manager

for VMware vSphere requires the 3PAR Recovery Manager for VMware vSphere

and Virtual Copy licenses.
