6.18 Modifying Virtual Copy Policies

c (Optional) Select a period of time to retain virtual copy sets.
A dialog box prompts you for the number of days to retain the virtual copy set as shown
in ( Figure 6-23 ).

1) Select the Retention Period.
2) Select Hours, Days, Weeks, Months, or Years.
d (Optional for VM’s) Select whether to ensure application consistency. This option is used
to create snapshots of virtual copy sets that adhere to data format standards used by
the VMware Tools.
5 Click Save.
The virtual copy policy modification task is submitted and started. The following alert
appears:
NOTE: Setting the retention policy requires the 3PAR Virtual Lock license on the
InServ Storage Server.
NOTE: The virtual copy set can be retained for up to 1,825 days.
NOTE: When using both the expiry and retention options, the expiry value must
be equal to or greater than the retention value.
