Using virtual partitions for load and extract, Using – HP Neoview Release 2.5 Software User Manual
Page 23
Using this feature increases pipeline utilization by allowing Transporter to make multiple data
connections for loading data to a set of partitions simultaneously. In addition, you might find
performance improvement when executing initial loads on empty tables during nonaudited or
stage table loads.
Multi-session side-tree inserts are disabled by default.
To globally enable multi-session side-tree inserts, set this property in the nvt.properties file:
multi-session-sidetree-insert-enabled=true
To enable multi-session side-tree inserts for a specific load, set the teamsize control file option
to 2 or 4. For example: teamsize=2.
NOTE:
Multi-session side-tree inserts apply only to staging table loads, where
forcestaging=true
in the control file, and nonaudited loads, where noaudit=true in the
control file.
Using Virtual Partitions for Load and Extract
Transporter allows you to create temporary, virtual partition ranges for your Transporter load
or extract job. These virtual ranges exist only for the duration of the job, and only records coming
from or destined for the specified “partitions” are processed. Using non-overlapping virtual
partitions with multiple Transporter instances can potentially provide faster processing times
for your job, especially when large numbers of records (several million) are involved.
Use the
and
control file options to set the virtual
partition range(s) for your job.
