Installing the Client Using CONSOLE Mode
If you do not have a GUI environment, or if you prefer a console-like installation, you can install
Transporter in console mode.
•
From a Linux or HP-UX shell, use this command:
java -jar nvt_java_client_v.v.v.jar -console
v.v.v
indicates the major version, minor version, and update number. For example, 2.4.0
corresponds to the initial release of version 2.4.

For Windows, you can install Transporter in console mode by typing the same command
at the
Command prompt on a Windows system (page 62)
NOTE:
You must ensure that your PATH and Java environment are set up correctly,
including the minimum required JVM. For more information, see
Settings For Client Installation” (page 17)

Uninstaller for the product is available in the uninstaller subdirectory
of the install location you provided in Step 2.

Client Directory Structure
Installation creates the environment variable NVTHOME for the default location of the Transporter
base directory. The directory specification follows the conventions of your loader platform.
For example,

Windows — c:\Program Files\NVTransporter
•
Unix®-type platform— /usr/nvtransporter
