The 9840 tape drive is a high-performance tape drive designed for the NonStop
server
environment. The 9840 tape drive uses a Fibre Channel Converter to
connect to the server.
The tape drive provides fast average access time, high data rates, and high
capacity.

Tape Drive Configuration With Fibre Channel Converter
In order for the tape drive to connect to a NonStop S-series server, the tape
drive must first connect through a Fibre Channel converter. Figure 1-1 shows
the configuration.
