Setting up the Disk Drive
Connecting the Drive to Your System
•
Press F4 key to get the list of all logical volumes in the system, then
highlight lv00
•
Press Enter key
•
Go back to Logical Volume Manager menu by pressing F3 key several times
•
Select Volume Groups
•
Select Remove a Volume Group
•
Press F4 key to get the list of all logical volumes in the system, then
highlight “eng”
•
Press enter key
4. Remove the disk cartridge from the drive
5. Disconnect the drive.
Useful Commands
•
diag -a
Can be used to detect a new device added to the system.
•
diag -A
Can be used to perform some diagnostic routines like test the machine hardware,
display/change hardware vital product data, format a media, add/delete
resources, download microcode, etc.
•
df -v
Report number of free file system disk blocks.
•
lspv
List all disks along with their PVID(Physical volume Identifier) and
LVGname(Logical Volume Group name).
•
lsvg -p LVGname
List all physical volumes in the logical volume group LVGname.
•
lsvg -l
List all logical volumes in the logical volume group LVGname.
Connection to Sun Solaris
Use third-party drivers. No native support is available with the Solaris operating
system.
