When the Pairsplit-S pane closes, the list changes to the Pair Settings Parameter list (Pairsplit-S).

•
Port, Group, and LUN of the selected LU number.
•
S/N and SSID of the RCU (MCU if connected to the RCU).
•
Mode: Yes (delete forcibly) or No (delete normally).
•
Range: Range for deleting the asynchronous pair: Group, LU, or C/T.
Changing pair options (Change Pair Option)
Use the Change Pair Option command to change pair options, Fence level and Error level (asynchronous
pairs only). When the Change Pair Option command is selected, the Change Pair Option pane appears.
From the Change Pair Option pane, change pair options.

•
Volume: Port - Host group - LUN of the selected volume.
NOTE:
If # is added to the end of the LDEV number, such as 00:3C#, the LDEV is an external
volume. For details about external volumes, see the HP StorageWorks External Storage XP user
guide.
•
P-VOL Fence Level: Select the fence level for the new pairs. The fence level determines the conditions
under which the MCU rejects write operations to the P VOL. Never is automatically set for an
asynchronous pair. See ”
Considering the P-VOL fence-level setting
” on page 97 for more information
about this option.
• Never: P-VOL is never fenced.
• Data: P-VOL is fenced when the MCU cannot successfully execute an update copy operation for
any reason.
• Status: P-VOL is fenced only if the MCU cannot change the S-VOL status to suspended when an
update copy operation fails.
•
Asynchronous Parameters (async only):
• Error Level: Error level for the new pairs: Group or LU.
NOTE:
To set parameters on multiple volumes at one time without changing individual parameters
for each volume, set the parameter values you do not want to change to blank. Only the
parameters you input are changed.
•
Cancel button: Cancels settings made and closes the Change Pair Option panel.
•
Set button: Sets parameters and closes the Change Pair Option panel.
1.
Connect to the MCU or RCU of the pairs to be changed, and start Continuous Access XP.
